Geography

Geography

Geography is a Foundation Subject in the National Curriculum. Our aim in teaching Geography is to develop children’s knowledge and understanding of places and environments.

Through Geography children are taught to make and read maps and to develop research and enquiry skills to support their wider learning using ICT to support as appropriate.

At St Gabriel’s we use the Learning Challenge curriculum to teach a connected curriculum across the school. This is a very stimulating way to teach the foundation curriculum and builds up a sense of excitement for both the children and staff.

In Geography at St Gabriel’s we aim to provide the children with a good knowledge and understanding of British Values and the importance of understanding and accepting cultures from around the world.
